![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After a short time destroying enemies and driving across the cracked pavement, players will feel like a true road warrior just like how using plasmids make them feel like an undersea powerhouse in Bioshock and BioShock 2. In an immersive manner, players are equipped with similar vehicles and skills of adversaries, making the gameplay and setting feel cohesive and unified. In a desert full of deranged threats, the player must fight gunfire with gunfire, oftentimes blasting enemies away with their own weapons. In this world, vehicles are gods and drivers are the prophets heralding their own brands of domination or freedom choices not unlike those the player would need to make in some parts of the BioShock series with regard to morality. Mad Max is one franchise that puts the pedal to the metal when it comes to innovation in a progressively stale area of gaming. Too lazy to proofread.Post-apocalyptic settings need to have traits that make them stand out in a genre filled with generic wastelands and zombies. If, in some kind of parallel universe, Bioshock 1 was never released, but Bioshock 2 was(assuming it had been fixed to introduce rapture properly like the first, etc, but keeping the plotline) people probably would have loved it as much as they did Bioshock 1 here.Īll I can say is that you shouldn't judge Bioshock 2 by 1. In other words, its greatest flaw is that it wasn't as original as its prequel. You know, I kind of feel that the big reason people don't like Bioshock 2 is the fact that it is a sequel. The whole morality system with Eleanor was fantastic, and I still look back on it with wonder as to how good it is. No game has every created a larger emotional attachment between myself and its characters than Bioshock 2. All in all, it isn't quite as good as the first, but it's still great. I feel, actually, that Bioshock 2 was a very, very good game. ![]() It had one of the best stories of all time, an incredible environment, and was just generally awesome. Plus did anyone else in bioshock 2 look forward to the eleanor voice recordings i know every time i walked up to one i hoped it'd be one of hers. for that reason i say that both games are great regardless of their stories. While giving people free reign to do what they want allowed Rapture to grow massively it is also what lead to its even quicker downfall. The surface level message is that Objectivism is stupid. personally, at the beginning of the game, when eleanor is taken from me forcefully i knew that this game was going to be 100% get your little girl back no matter the obstacle. Bioshock has a multi-layered message that works on 2 levels. This in my opinion does not take away from how good bioshock 2 is, it is just a different way of telling the story. by having this objective rather than being able to mull what is going on and make up your own mind and theories bioshock 2 took the creative "what the hell am i doing here" out. Its not that bioshock 2 didnt have a story its that it had a very clear objective, something bio 1 sort of lacked. Bioshock 1 is all exploration and what the hell is going on here mixed in with some very very scary moments.īioshock 2 is more well rounded combat wise, more diversity in gameplay plasmids guns or DRILL PLASMID COMBO THAT BONUCES BULLETS BACK AT ENEMIES.īut in all seriousness i very much enjoyed both games, in bio 1 the story was amazing with some somewhat repetitive at times combat, in bio 2 the story holds 2nd fiddle to the combat system which has MUCH more depth and personally defending a little sister YOUR little sister got me MUCH more attached to the games characters than in the bio 1. ![]()
